Our Services
Tree Trimming / Removal
When we assess your site, we often recommend tree trimming for the following reasons:
Deadwood
As branches die off naturally, they provide a way for insects and fungus to enter and destroy your tree. Proper trimming of deadwood protects your landscaping, and ensures your trees will beautify your property for many years. Falling deadwood is also a potential hazard. Trimming removes it safely and prevents injury.
We will usually recommend Class Two Deadwood Trim where 90% of deadwood "two fingers" wide or greater is removed.
Thinning
All trees have a natural tendency to over produce foliage. When we thin trees, we take away unnecessary foliage that burdens the root system. That, in turn, produces the best root system possible, one that is stronger and better able to withstand injury and repel disease.
In addition, these extraneous branches are weighted down in Spring and Summer by moisture laden foliage. When too many branches leaf out, the tree becomes wind resistant and is far more likely to break or sustain wind damage. With proper thinning, the wind blows through rather than against your trees.
And when trees are cared for by thinning, sunlight can filter through to the plantings and grass beneath. So expert trimming enhances the area surrounding the tree as well.
Clearance
We protect your home, roof, wires and other outside structures by trimming branches safely back from them. Typically, we leave 4 — 15 feet between these structures and the nearest branch. The exact distance is determined by the tree's size, species and proximity.
Raising
When tree branches grow and spread low to the ground, your yard can seem crowded and dark. In addition, such branches can make lawn care difficult if not impossible. By trimming these low hanging branches, we provide the effect of raising the canopy of the tree. This adds light to your garden and creates a more inviting and lovely space.
Sucker Growth
When a tree is untrimmed, multiple small branches stick out from the truck and main limbs. These are called suckers, and for a good reason: they divert sap for their own nourishment, preventing it from reaching the crown. To allow better flow of nourishment, we trim sucker growth to approximately half your tree's height.
Tree and Stump Removal
We have the skill and experience necessary to successfully and safely remove any tree and stump you desire. We can often simply climb the tree or use an aerial bucket to rope down cut pieces. But we also undertake very risky removals that require a crane to lift out sections of the tree to reduce the risk. We will visit your property and look at each tree for removal and give you a free written cost estimate.
Waterfeatures
Adding Waterfeatures to your existing landscape is a great way to add life to your surroundings. We can create ponds, waterfalls, pondless waterfalls, and fountains, and we even can supply Koi fish for the ponds. Not only are these Waterfeatures beautiful, seeing the movement of the water and sound of the flowing fountains and waterfalls is peaceful and relaxing. Worried that this investment may require more upkeep than you can give? Think again – our Waterfeatures are very low maintenance. With pricing ranging from $2,000 — $20,000 we can certainly find the best Waterfeature for any client with any Landscape.
